Spiritually Hungry, Institutionally Suspicious: Engaging the Spirituality of Young Adults in our Culture and Church

Who are young adults in our world? What do they care about? How do they express their theology and spirituality? What can we learn from young adults, both in our culture and right here at Pasadena Presbyterian Church?

Please join us for a four week course exploring the gifts that young adults bring to our culture and church. We will engage young adult spirituality and explore particular spiritual practices that young adults bring to our faith, including the spirit of play, the gift of questioning, the yearning for social healing, and the opportunity for intergenerational relationships. We will look at all these gifts with theological eyes and hearts for practice. Come learn from young adults and even connect with your younger self! ALL AGES are invited for this discussion! We want this to be purposefully INTERGENERATIONAL! (Adult Education Hour: 11:20-12:20)

Renee Roederer will teach and facilitate our class. Renee completed an M.Div. from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2008 and most recently served as a Campus Minister at University Presbyterian Church, where she worked with students and young adults from the University of Texas. She and her husband Ian recently moved to Pasadena in August and are excited to be with us at PPC!
